Freelance Islamic Calligraphy Artist

Sultana Rubi is a distinguished Bangladeshi Islamic calligraphy artist holding a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) from the Department of Crafts, Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Dhaka. With a career spanning over three decades, she has participated in numerous national and international exhibitions including the Asian Art Biennale. Her work beautifully merges traditional Islamic calligraphy with contemporary artistic expression, using mediums such as watercolour on paper and acrylic on canvas.

Her artistic journey began at the Arts and Crafts College of Rajshahi in the mid-1980s, where she earned the Class Best Award in Water Color Media. She continued her studies at the Institute of Fine Arts, University of Dhaka, where she received the Experimental Art Work Award in 2002. In 2002, she also held her first solo Tapestry Exhibition at the prestigious Zainul Gallery.

As a general member of Bangladesh Charushilpi Sangsad, she has exhibited at major venues including Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, the National Museum, and has participated in multiple editions of the Asian Art Biennale Bangladesh.
